Process of Admissions

Mt.Montessori Infant

At Mountain West Montessori we understand that one of your most important responsibilities as a parent is choosing the right school for your child. Our admission process is designed to aid you in making a conscious and comfortable decision on your child’s education.

Please Keep in mind, that the admission process follows a first-come, first-serve basis.

* Infant Community admission will require each child to be accompanied by an adult for a minimum of two days. This helps your child make a positive transition from you to his/her new environment.

1. Scheduled Walk Through

This is a 45-minute visit to our campus, where you can see the outdoor environment and possibly peek through a window of the classrooms. It is a tour for adults only. We limit this to 2 adults. In order to apply for school admissions, also register to take a virtual tour and begin your process of admissions.

2. Online Tour and Admission, Observation & Application

Tour: The first step in the admissions process is a tour of the school. Our program is so unique; we want you to see it firsthand. This meeting will inform parents of basic Montessori Philosophy, give you a brief school tour, and talk about the benefits that Mountain West Montessori provides as a school. School tours last for approximately an hour and a half. We strongly encourage parents to make childcare arrangements for this period of time so they can devote their full attention to the information being provided. To schedule your tour, please click THIS LINK.

Observation: During your tour, we allow ample time to observe all educational levels offered at Mountain West Montessori. This opportunity to observe gives you the best view of how the program works, how our Guides interact with the children, and how the children move in the environment. After your observation of the classroom environment, we will meet to answer any of your comments and questions.

Application: After your observation, you may turn in your application. Payment of a non-refundable $100.00 application fee and the completion of an application are required prior to consideration of a child for admission.

3. Parent Interview and Child Visit

Once the Parent Questionnaire, Immunization Records, Medical Statment, and prior School Records (if applicable) are submitted and reviewed, we will call you to schedule a Parent Interview and Child Visit.

For children entering the Infant Community or Children’s House, this will last approximately one hour and is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the operation and procedures and better understand what to expect from the Montessori experience. For children enrolling in our Elementary or Adolescent Program, they will be asked to visit one of our school environments from 9-3 pm for one or two days for observation and academic evaluation.

4. Enrollment

Congratulations! You have completed the admissions process. After careful consideration, the school will notify parents if their child has been accepted to Mountain West Montessori. The parent questionnaire, recommendations, school records, transcripts, diagnosis, and any other requested student information from past schools attended (if applicable) must be in the office prior to accepting any child.

We enroll students throughout the year as space is available. If there is an immediate space, your child will be accepted and we will hold the spot for 3 days ONLY. All school fees, deposits, admissions forms, and up-to-date medical records must be in the school office before a child can begin his/her first day of school.
